Welcoming May With Art

You've heard this before, that April showers bring May flowers. This week we are focusing on how Studio Tour artists are part of this process of renewal and creation.

For example, Momin Kahn was painting in Fabriano Italy recently.  Looking forward to seeing how this experience is reflected in his beautiful watercolours.

Ona Kingdon continues to inspire artists, locally and abroad. This watercolour by Ona Kingdon 'Emotive Expressions' is on its way to Colorado for the International Watermedia exhibition there.

Sharon Kirsh's floral cold was and oil paintings are very much inspired by spring renewal.

Darlene J. Winfield's work is also a celebration of the beautiful outdoors, and is on display in King City.

Artist Sightings

If you live here in Richmond Hill, it's a lovely time of year to walk along the trails of Mill Pond Park. You might see Sparrows, Blue Jays and even Starlings making their way amongst the tree tops. If you also visit some of the local restaurants and galleries, then you'll also spot some Richmond Hill Studio Tour Artists.

Studio tour artist, Sharon Kirsh has been sharing her work at Citro Restaurant (10123 Yonge Street) and just sold this lovely work, titled Exuberance.

There might be Greg Chiykowski sightings next week, as Greg's lively watercolours will be featured at Citros until mid-June.

If you happen to be online rather then around town, then you might spot Karen Pasieka. Her colourful work was recently featured on Polymer Clay Daily.

Spring Showers

It's been a rainy April, and Studio Tour Artists are inspired.

Wendy Cho has created some multicoloured raindrops to bring life and colour to an otherwise cloudy day!

Susan Chater has created this lovely street reflection of a rainy day.

Darlene J Winfield recently sold this lovely painting; it is a great reminder of the blue sky days that are ahead!

You Can Find Studio Tour Artists Everywhere!

Studio tour artists are spending loads of time working in their studios, but they also get out and share their works here in Richmond Hill as well as in the GTA.

Daniel Marlatt and Suzanne Lock showed their work at Richmond Hill's Culture Summit, while Victor Molev's work was featured at the York Mills Gallery.

Here is Daniel Marlatt with one of his amazing works at Richmond Hill's Cultural Summit.

Shoshana Lock was also at Richmond Hill's Cultural Summit with one of her wonderful paintings.

Here is Victor Molev at the York Mills Gallery, which is currently showing his work.
